The Education Portfolio at UWA is overseen by the Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education), who leads the University’s academic programs and the institution's education mission.

The Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) oversees course structures, international activities, student and service delivery and relationships with key education partners.

Education Portfolio values

  • A strong sense of shared purpose, commitment and community is important to the success of the Portfolio.
  • Everyone has a role and responsibility in achieving success and all individual contributions matter.
  • Consulting, engaging and involving students is integral to delivery of a student-centred education.
  • The Education Portfolio should lead and influence delivery of a high-quality student experience throughout the University.

Education Portfolio planning

The Education Portfolio holds a Senior Staff Planning Day early in Semester 2 each year. The aims of annual Planning Day are to:

  • discuss, develop and agree on the key priorities for the Education Portfolio for the year ahead
  • continue building a team amongst the senior leaders in the Education Portfolio

Outcomes from Planning Day are finalised by the Education Executive team and form the basis of the portfolio-wide, all-staff meeting held early in the New Year.
