CAIDi (Curriculum Approvals Information Database online) is a UWA-developed curriculum management system that is used for developing, changing, approving and managing curriculum information.

Who is this advice sheet for?

This advice sheet is designed to assist users in getting permissions on CAIDi.

What are the permissions on CAIDi?

Each CAIDi user has a set of permissions that determine what that user can and cannot do. For example, only a user with 'edit drafted' permission can edit a form for a drafted new proposal, and only a user with 'submit' or 'manage' permissions can submit a final proposal for University approval.

Permissions can be broad or specific: a user could have 'edit drafted' for the entire faculty, a section or for one curriculum item only.

Every staff member with a current Pheme password has 'read approved' permission by default, allowing to view information about proposed and approved curriculum.

The following table shows all CAIDi permission types:

What permission do I need to start drafting a new curriculum proposal?

You will need to request 'create new' permissions before you can draft a new proposal. Refer to the CAIDi Advice Sheet on Creating a proposal for further information.

How do I seek permission?

  1. CAIDi permissions will be set depending on the access you require.
  2. Faculty permissions are managed by a Faculty Curriculum Officer or other designated faculty staff.
  3. Curriculum developers and admin staff seeking permissions should contact their faculty office for internal processes, deadlines and to obtain permissions.
  4. Stakeholders' permissions are initially given by the central Curriculum Management Team, but can be shared; anyone with 'manage permissions' access can grant any lower or equal to their own permission.
