This project involves the development and implementation of a prototype UWA online Learning Management System (LMS) based infrastructure, which will provide support to students enrolled in Chinese university partner programs that articulate to the second year of the UWA Bachelor of Commerce. Learning and student support materials will be designed and developed in a UWA Blackboard LMS site, tailored specifically for Chinese UWA Business School articulation students. These materials will then be integrated into two partner university LMSs (one Blackboard and one Moodle).
The Bachelor of Commerce currently comprises 42% of UWA’s full time undergraduate student cohort. This proportion will continue to grow through the implementation of articulation agreements with Chinese partner universities. This project seeks to promote student satisfaction, and thus Students Unit Reflective Feedback (SURF) outcomes, by ensuring the influx of international students enrolling through the UWA Business School articulation pathways are adequately prepared to succeed academically.
The project will cultivate experiential learning by strengthening transnational partnerships, and connecting the UWA Business School with the global community. Through the development of a LMS prototype that integrates with the LMS online platforms of partner universities in China, it will contribute to UWA’s emphasis on quality resources, technologies, and providing students with a blended learning experience.
